Tabletop
MDF stands for medium density fiberboard. While wood chips are used for fiberboard or particleboard, finely shredded wood is used for MDF. This gives an MDF board a particularly high breaking and flexural strength.
Multi-part tabletops consist of two or three pieces that have to be stuck together to form the whole thing. While it does reduce shipping costs and speed of delivery (it fits into a normal sized package) it severely impedes the stability of the table and leaves seams.

Black tabletops magically attract fingerprints and grease stains. With our “Ghost Touch” coating, these marks disappear as if by magic. This way your desk will always look immaculate and well-kept. Due to the higher material costs, this surface is optional.
Note:
An average desk is usually not even made of real wood. This makes it more prone to breaking faster (compared to real wooden desks). Of course, if you need a cheap desk that is plain and simply holds a monitor, then you’re in the right place. If you want a gaming desk that is very durable and has a high quality, then you should rather go for real wooden desks. Standard wooden desk tops usually have a thickness of 17 mm to 19 mm. The LeetDesk reinforces that by another 6 mm to be able to withstand any frustration blow with a total thickness of 25 mm.
Adjustability
Adjusting the desk height is a very important feature in order to find your ideal gaming position. Depending on the game, you have a different ideal desk height (and possibly chair height). If you don’t know your perfect desk height yet or want to learn more about it, read our article about finding your optimal desk height.
Usually, desks are set to a standard height of 72cm. However, this is too low for taller people and too high for smaller ones. The LeetDesk enables you to freely move the desk between 63cm – 128cm to fit every body height and preferences.

When comparing height-adjustable – or “standing” – desks check for the number of the legs’ segments. 3 segments allow the desks to go lower and higher than those with just 2 segments. Also, the desk moves faster.
2 motors are quieter and faster than only 1 motor. In addition, with only one motor, a metal rod is used to connect the motor on one side to the leg on the other. On the one hand, this adds a disturbing element to the table’s leg space, and on the other hand, it makes the table more error-prone. If the rod is hit, it can bend.

The height adjustability of a desk helps you sit “dynamically”, i.e. to change your sitting position more often, as you can always adjust the table to your liking. Doing a few sessions standing up every now and then is not wrong either. A good rule to follow is the 60-30-10 rule. This means that you optimally spend 60% of your “desk time” sitting, 30% standing, and 10% doing purposeful walking. However, even according to this rule, you should be sitting at your desk for more than half of the workday, so we’ve compiled the most important info on how to sit and perfectly game at your desk in order to prevent injury in our blog article.
The desk is not unprotected, but a load sensor only reacts under certain blockages.

Load capacity
Add 15kg to your PC, another 20kg to your 3 monitors and you still have 45kg of leeway.
The 80kg refers to how much the legs can raise and lower continuously in multiple cycles. Of course, several hundred kilos can easily be packed onto the desk without impressing the tabletop. However, as mentioned, the height adjustability can then no longer be used.

So that you always know your expensive hardware is safe, LeetDesk is protected in every direction with gyro sensors. No matter if up, down and even sideways.
With load sensors, the desk is not unprotected, but the sensor cannot detect interference implants from all directions.

Design is always a matter of taste and whether you like a desk also depends a lot on how the room looks like where it is placed. We prefer a minimalist design that can fit into any room. Wild ornaments and decorative elements can always be added later on and then just as easily removed if you no longer like it.
